Home News Greenacres-Bäumer deliver first locally assembled Cutting Machine
Greenacres-Bäumer Cutting Media in Malmesbury, a German-South Africa joint venture specializing in the manufacture of cutting tools and machinery for the technical , bedding and insulation foam applications, have successfully completed the commissioning of the first locally assembled IS-L vertical cutting machine.

Two of these machines were shipped from Albrecht Bäumer in Germany, in pre-assembled component version for completion in South Africa. “The rationale for the decision to expand our capacity in South Africa is driven by the need to improve competitiveness in the local market, locally assembled equipment places first class German engineered equipment within financial reach of local customers,”says Des Green, Managing Director at Greenacres-Bäumer. “The first of these is already sold to a customer in Johannesburg for converting high density technical foams made of crosslinked polyethylene, expanded polystyrene, neoprene and solid rubber for industrial and mining applications where extreme accuracy and tolerances are required” he explained.

The second machine is on display at their showroom in Malmesbury where they are geared to conduct trials and demonstrations to interested parties. The locally assembled IS-L machine is priced ex-works Malmesbury, at R400 000.00, excluding VAT. This price includes assembly, installation and training, but excludes transportation to the installation site.
