bild_022International construction and consulting firm ICC-Schreiber GmbH of Siegen in Germany and Greenacres Group, a local technology provider in SA, have joined forces to develop applications in the construction industry for composite metal faced sandwich panels made of PUR or PIR foams. The company Greenacres ICC (Pty) Ltd was registered and started trading in March 2010.

The need for rigid and lightweight construction elements that can be installed on steel supporting frames, cost effectively reduce total costs of construction, compared with traditional building materials. Furthermore, energy efficiency is a feature of the thermal insulation included in the composite sandwich panel design, increasing thermal stability in the building and reducing energy costs and particularly the costs associated with the inceasing electricity price in SA.

ICC-Schreiber GmbH has delivered complete building systems on turn-key base to various customers in Africa ranging from the workshops at the Formula-1 race track in Dubai to cladding on the Nelson Mandela stadium in Port Elizabeth and eco-housing villages to Angola. Ongoing projects in South Africa include cladding works at the Escom Medupi site in Lephalale.
