Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment
In 2005 Greenacres Holdings incubated a project driven by Jacob Peu, a young black township entrepreneur, whose vision it was to make good tasting wine accessible and attractive to the mainstream black market. Providing funding, administrative support and leadership mentoring, the company supported Jacob in his quest to build a lifestyle brand in the townships, aptly named "Jacob's Quest". "Jacob's Quest" is housed in a subsidiary company, Greenacres Fine Wines (Pty) Ltd, that commenced operations in April 2008. Jacob is a Director and substantial shareholder.
